The Body Armor (also called Assault Vest and Armor Vest, depending on the game) is a regular armor item from the Unreal series.

Overview

The Body Armor is the basic damage protection armor item. It usually provides 100 points of protection to a player. Unlike many other armor types, it can be used in conjunction with other items to provide the player with an even greater resistance to damage. The armor is usually placed sparingly among maps, sometimes in difficult or hard-to-reach places.

Certain types of armor provide better protection from certain forms of attack. The more damage your armor absorbs the weaker it becomes. Keep an eye on your Armor Level Indicator to see how much strength your armor has left. Once your armor level reaches zero, the armor no longer offers you any protection."

The Assault Vest can be used in conjunction with the Kevlar Suit to provide the player with an even greater resistance to damage. It absorbs 90% of damage taken from the user. The Assault Vest is very similar to the Kevlar Suit, the only difference being the Assault Vest protects the player from more damage, but is less durable, and vice versa.

The Body Armor can be used in conjunction with the Thigh Pads to provide the player with an even greater resistance to damage. It absorbs 75% of damage taken from the user, and is usually placed sparingly among maps, sometimes in difficult or hard-to-reach places.

Trivia

• Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict doesn't include an armor system, but it offers various Adrenaline abilities to defend yourself from different attacks:
  • "Iron Spirit" is what comes closest to the armor from other Unreal games, it reduces damage from all attacks by half.
  • "Repulse" and "Blade Shield" protect players from explosive weapons.
  • "Energy Shield" blocks attacks from energy weapons, but it can only be used by bots.
  • Juggernaut characters are able to use the powerful "Invulnerability" move, which blocks all attacks, but only lasts a short time and takes health away from the player.
