Overview |
"By taking advantage of the fast moving high ground and the relative cover of the low, tactically proficient players can make their way to the flag practically unscathed. Returning with the flag, on the other hand, is another matter altogether."
– Map description
CTF-Colossus is a Capture the Flag map from Unreal Tournament 2004. It's one of the stock maps.
Map description[]
Effectively a Capture the Flag adaptation of BR-Colossus, the map shares its layout but shuffles the items a bit.
The named areas of the map are the following:
- Blue/Red Rear Base: A multi-level area that contains the flag in a risen platform. The area ends where both side buildings start.
- Blue/Red Forward Base: The connection between the midfield and each of the rear bases.
- Inside this area there's the Blue/Red Bunker, a small bunker with four entrances, one from the rear, two from the front, and one from the top. The top entrance is actually an escape pit, as there's a jumppad below it that ends in the upper level of the Forward Base.
- While not named, this area also contains the Blue/Red West Building and Blue/Red East Building, two buildings that contain a bunch of items and have platforms and a rear dual ramp as non-Translocator entryways.
- Neutral Zone: The midfield of the map, like the BR version, it contains two platforms with goodies.

Prima Official Guide[]
"Capture the Flag Counterpoint
The only differences between the maps are the locations of three items: the redeemer is replaced with the ion painter, and the double damage and 100 shield pack switch places (meaning there's only one 100 shield pack on the middle platform and two double damage power-ups in the central cave on each side). Support your flag carrier just as you would the ball carrier, secure the ion painter early on; use it to demolish those chasing your flag carrier or snipe them from distance. Finally, the darkened areas around the flag make light work of leaving your translocator pod and warping back in for a quick second flag steal."

Trivia[]
- Much like BR-Colossus, the map features two Ion Cannons despite the class being phased out in 2004. Unlike the BR counterpart, however, this map does feature the Ion Painter.
