CTF-Face][ (whose full name is Facing Worlds ][) is a map appearing in Unreal Tournament. It comes with the UT Inoxx Pack.

Map description[]

The map is a reimagination of CTF-Face by the original author himself. Like the original map, it takes place in outer space and consists of two towers, each holding the respective team's flag. However, the map now takes place on a large space platform, the towers are more exposed and closer than before, there are more spots for sniping, each team has a protected spawnpoint below their respective bases that have lifts to the main floor, and the bases can be entered from any of the towers' sides.

The map itself lacks area names, so this article will refer to them as follows:

  • Blue/Red Flag Base: The lower level of each tower.
  • Blue/Red Spawn: The protected spawn area below the towers.
  • Blue/Red Lower Sniper: The lower sniping spot, including the Redeemer walkway above it.
  • Blue/Red Upper Sniper: The upper sniping spot.
  • Platform: The space platform connecting both towers.

Tips and tricks[]

  • Even though both lower spawnpoints are protected from snipers, they are in direct sight of each other. Since this area does not have any weapons, and most of the players here will be taking the lift anyways, it is not a good idea to target opponents in this area.
  • As an attacker, you have more exits from the enemy base to pick from. Use this to your advantage when escaping with the flag.
  • Next to each team's flag, behind the tower, there is a Body Armor and a Shield Belt. Keep these pickups in mind when escaping from the enemy base, and if possible, time their spawns.
  • The Shock Rifle gains even more of a presence in this map, as combo-oriented players have more space and freedom to use them to their advantage either as attackers or defenders.

Trivia[]

Readme Notes[]

"The sequel to Facing Worlds, the original Unreal Tournament Capture the Flag Map. This new version is quite a bit more intense, as the bases are 20% closer and there are more sniping spots."
Epic BP Readme

Author's Notes[]

"It's mostly new graphics but there are several changes and this should change the gameplay quite a bit. The bases are more open, so defending the base will be harder. Also the space between the towers is smaller so bringing the flag back home will be easier. I hope all these small changes will help to make the map faster and more intense that the original one."
GamesWeb Interview[1]
"No need to introduce Facing Worlds. It's the most popular map I've done, this is the sequel ! Get your Sniper Rifle !"
