The following is a meta-article, which explains a concept which usually falls out of one of the wiki's categorizations, yet it's still important to explain something.

Dm-Siberia[]

Ebolt has done a great job of making his own style, instead of imitating Vermoord's "Sanctum." This map really feels like a futuristic prison complex in, well, Siberia. The walls are thick and imposing, the unfinished industrial bowels are neat and are lit extremely well, and the weapon placement is competent. A few neato secrets and tricks spice the map up further (anyone else find the invisibility?) and the super fast jumps are a great bonus."

DM-StrictlyDiesel[]

God damn I don't think I've seen the same part of this map twice yet. Willhaven is a madman! Someone stop him before he makes a 400 player deathmatch map!

The decayed set is one of my favourites from Unreal, but it has largely become overused lately. Willhaven somehow manages to make this tired set look fresh. Although there are some minor things I can pick on, such as the scale (some of those rooms seem made for Titans instead of humans!) or the coronas (some are BLINDING!) the map just keeps going and keeps connecting into itself. I can't figure out where this map starts and ends, and I love it. I really feel like I'm inside of some enormous factory, or giant engine. Some of the heavier architecture feels like
Quake 2, but the good use of coloured lighting makes it look far nicer. Great stuff!"

DMDespair[]

Mick does a fantastic job of creating a castle-themed map that has a fantastic flow and cool architecture. A no frills DM, his weapon and item placement are excellent and his lighting and texture usage are up to par. Only one suggestion - the shieldbelt and the superhealth are a bit too close to one another, I'd move them to opposite parts of the map."

DMSanctum[]

Author: Mick 'VerMoorD' Beard
Game: Unreal Deathmatch

Once again Mick comes through with a map that is not at all unlike the style seen in Id's upcoming Quake3, and it looks extremely spiffy. Curves are used liberally all throughout the map, and the combination of hot and cold lighting makes it a truly gorgeous place to cap some heads in. Thumbs up baby!"

DmVeltor[]

Author: Sidney Rauchberger
Game: Unreal Deathmatch

Sidney does a fantastic job of building, texturing, and lighting this cool as hell map. I've always been a sucker for the whole "Techno Castle" look, and Veltor captures this perfectly. The little floor highlight lights really add depth, and the 3d nature of the map makes for good action. My only beef is that the lifts are a pain in the ass to stay on! This map 0wns!"
