Walkthrough Edit

PC (Retail/GOTY) Edit

"A former Liandri smelting facility, this complex has proven to be one of the bloodiest arenas for tournament participants. Lovingly called the Heavy Metal Grinder, those who enter can expect nothing less than brutal seek and destroy action."
Mission description

Tips and tricks Edit

  • Having elevated platforms almost everywhere, this map is good for delivering intense splash damage upon your opponents without leaving a scratch upon yourself.
  • Lurk near the body armor and damage amplifier; even if you don't get those power-ups, you'll be in the center of the action.[1]
  • The rocket launcher will also be an area of heavy contention. Get up on the catwalks that overlook the rocket launcher and wait for players to enter the room, hoping to grab the powerful long-range weapon. Couple your camping with the nearby damage amplifier for twice the fun.[1]
  • The body armor rests just under the damage amplifier at the top of a small staircase. Grab the armor right after securing the amplifier for a long-term killing spree.[1]
  • Another room also contains the thigh pads at the end of a long catwalk. Hide behind the crates here and wait for players to trap themselves on that catwalk; fire up some shock rifle bursts or rockets to ruin their day.[1]

Trivia Edit

  • There's a hidden level entry text: "Welcome to the Heavy Metal Grinder". It may be a possible reference to the heavy metal band Judas Priest, as one of their songs is called "Grinder".
  • The beta version has a playercount of 2-6.
