Overview |
DM-Stalwart is a Deathmatch map from Unreal Tournament.
Map description[]
This map consists of three rooms and a few small hallways. The three (unnamed in-game) areas of interest are the pillar room, located at the north part of the map, repair area, located at the southwest part of the map, and cargo area, located at the southeast part of the map.
The pillar room is an area with two large pillars and two ledges near them. The north pillar is the pillar near the garage's closed door, while the south pillar is the pillar located near the intersection between the other two areas. The two passages from the cargo and repair areas end at the east and west ledges respectively.
The repair area is the room with a toolbox standing among several crates, several small yellow boxes, and several slime barrels.
At the opposite side, the cargo area holds many crates, some of which, when shot with explosives, reveal cones and some items.
There are two versions of the map: the original, and the extended version of the map named DM-StalwartXL, which opens up new areas to players and adds new weapons and items.

Walkthrough[]
PC (Retail/GOTY)[]
This is the first multi-bot match. The only thing the player really needs to do is to pick up whatever they see, and hunt down anyone they happen to come across.

Tips and tricks[]
- Controlling Stalwart is about establishing a cycle. As you examine the map you will notice that the repair area is by far the most interesting area, since it contains the Flak Cannon (hidden behind the three boxes in the corner) and the Body Armor. It exits north to 6 Health Vials, and east to the Shock Rifle. This is the room you want to control, and you control it by patrolling the following route: Body Armor -> Flak Cannon -> Flak Ammo -> Shock Rifle -> Shock Cores -> Thighpads -> Health Vials -> Flak Ammo -> Health Pack (near Thighpads) -> 6x Health Vials. This route takes about 20 to 25 seconds, not including any shooting you get involved in, and you'll notice you are just constantly collecting and controlling things that give you more health and more armour. The vials can of course take your health up to 199, and you are collecting up to nine of them each time (for 45 health). Everything you are collecting has a respawn time of 27 seconds, so the cycle works out pretty much perfectly. If you can establish this strategy you take all armor and vials away from both your opponents, and you have a health and armor advantage every time you meet one of them.[1]
- Try to hang around where the weapons are, and pick up the vials when they're available. Get the Health Vials and Body Armor before anyone else to gain a quick advantage over other players.[2][3]
- The Rocket Launcher requires an Impact Hammer jump to reach without the Translocator.[3]
- There are two ways to reach the Body Armor:
- The safest way is to jump onto the small, yellow box, then up again, then walk along the window ledge and jump, or just side-dodge across the gap to the armor.[1][2]
- The most obvious one requires an Impact Hammer jump. You can alt-hammer-jump off the ground in front of the big, red filing cabinet to reach its top, then hop to the armor. Alternatively, try backwards alt-hammering from the top of the wide ramp next to the vials to reach the armor box. Finally, you can stand at the side of the box, face the floor, and press jump and secondary shock at the same time - this will boost you up to the armor, but it will cost you about 50 health.[1]
- Look for players who are trying to grab the weapons and power-ups located on top of crates. Stand back and watch them patiently attempt their jumps, then fire a rocket or Shock Rifle blast to knock them off. Finish the job quickly if they've managed to snag the weapon.[4]
BradyGames Official Guide (PS2)[]
You'll want to scurry quickly over to the area with the tread-marks on the ground where you'll find the red tool cabinet. Therein lies a Flak Cannon hidden behind some crates as well as some Body Armor you can hop up to (using the small crate as a stepping stool) and some Ammo.
Right next to this area is another similar loading bay, with a Shock Rifle lying on the area bridging them. In this area, you'll find a Pulse Gun and a Rocket Launcher hidden behind the crates against the wall. To get the Rocket Launcher you'll need to use an explosive device (or Impact Hammer) to Rocket/Hammer-Jump up. To do this, charge up the weapon or hammer, aim it at the ground and press your jump button instantly after releasing it. This will cause you some physical harm, so be sure you have enough health.
Once getting the Rocket Launcher, there is a crate in the same room that can be blown open. Aim a rocket at it and watch the door fall off. In it you'll find a rocket pack as well as a Big Keg O' Health! Truck on up to the center of the playing area, a place where there are Thigh Pads in the middle as well as two slightly elevated areas to your sides. This is where the largest part of the the battle will ensue, as well as in the peripheral areas.
It is important to get the Rocket Launcher early on. This will open up the Big Keg O' Health, and also allow you to get more rockets easily without having to do an Impact Hammer-jump all the time. Once there, you'll be able to freely decimate your opponents wherever they stand. Run a pattern between the Keg O' Health and the Flak Cannon by taking the long route and you should make it in time to pulverize a few people who stray too deep onto your turf.
Remember that there are also normal sized Health Packs available. There are two in the main room and one on either side of the central area. Also, there are vials littered everywhere, so be sure to use them frequently!"
