DM-Turbine is a Deathmatch map for Unreal Tournament. It's present in the demo and full PC versions as well as the Playstation 2 version, in all cases as a stock map. In the PS2 version, it's also an unlockable map.
Map description[]
The map has a complex, maze-like layout, and is composed of several areas of interest. The map can be divided into four parts: the nook area, the basement, the ramp area, the sewers, and the arena. The map has a lot of columns and crates that can be used as cover from enemy fire.
The nook area consists of a big ledge spanning through the entire area, with several columns, and hosts one of the map's secrets: there are three doors in this area, and shooting the middle door will reveal a secret chamber with some ammo and the Shield Belt.
The basement connects the Nook area with the Arena, and is the only area with palpable water, having several columns as well as a small amount of water and some ramps and stairs.
The ramp area is connected to the Nook via a lift leading to a balcony, and features a lower level, a set of stairs, the eponymous ramp, a lower ledge, an upper ledge, and the second secret area, a ledge overlooking the area holding the Invisibility powerup. There is also a one-way air vent connecting the area with the Basement.
The sewers are a small area, the second one featuring water, with two spawning tubes and a large curve.
Finally, there is the arena, a series of corridors, stairs, crates, and a bridge, where most of the action takes place.
Having a lot of cramped spaces, as well as long stretches, makes this arena fit for a mix of speed and stealth matches.

Tips and tricks[]
- If Translocators are disabled, most players will need to use the Impact Hammer or a rocket into the ground to reach the Damage Amplifier.[1]
- However, for more skilled players, it is possible to perform a precise jump from one of the nearby pillars onto the crate with the Damage Amplifier.[2]
- Using rockets will probably be your best bet for this level.[1]
- The hidden Invisibility area provides a nice dark, secluded area for sniper fans. With the Invisibility close by, you can almost ensure prolonged undiscovered episodes of pain-free sniping. Fortunately, the area below is heavily traveled, as the Rocket Launcher is located just nearby.[3]
- Grab the Shield Belt as often as possible. Its added armor will give you the edge on the death total and will likely increase your kill score as long as you remain healthy.[3]
BradyGames Official Guide (PS2)[]
Invisibility is one of the greatest advantages this map has to offer. It is hidden in one of the rooms with a floor grate, only a few levels higher. The specific room you're looking for has the slanted ramp above it. To reach it, climb the stairwell located at one end and proceed to the ramp. There's a Pulse Gun and some Ammo en route to the right.
Once up the ramp, you'll see a Minigun dead ahead and an open grate. In the open grate you'll find some Body Armor. Take it, and back out of the grate. If you position yourself where the Minigun appears, there is a hidden chamber directly to the left and up where several Health Vials, Ammo, and Invisibility are located. To get to them, you must Rocket/Impact Hammer jump.
Falling down the chamber, you can find a Sniper Rifle in the bottom floor (where the grate is), at the opposite end from the staircase you scaled earlier. Some people may wish to use that in combination with the hiding spot that the Invisibility affords and snipe anyone coming by. However, Invisibility itself will allow you to romp freely with only a minimal chance of being detected - so you would be apt to use it before it wears off.
Upon acquisition of the Sniper Rifle, you'll notice the fork in the road. Both paths loop back on one another; however, if you take the one on the right you'll encounter the Damage Amplifier. Rocket Jump or Impact Hammer Jump up to grab it. You'll immediately notice a Flak Cannon on the continuing pathway.
Scoop up the Cannon and continue onwards. You'll pass a Biorifle on your way to another fork. Taking the left fork will bring you to some Thigh Pads, and continuing straight ahead will reveal a Rocket Launcher.
The main part of this level is controlling the grated areas. While they are small and narrow, they encompass three vertical levels each and will have enemies falling from above and joining the melee. Should you be fortunate enough to have a Sniper Rifle, you'll be able to pick them off from a long way down the corridor, or if you prefer, from on high in the Invisibility chamber. Nonetheless, it will be tough to evade enemy fire, so keep moving!"
CliffyB's tips (Demo version)[]
-There is a great camper spot up high somewhere near the highest minigun/health/armour.
-The shieldbelt is hidden behind a shootable wall in this map.
-Make sure you use audio cues in this map. They'll give away your foes' locations all over the place. :)
-Turbine can be played one on one without feeling too large."
