DmSolaris is a cut Deathmatch map from Unreal.
Overview[]
It was the replacement for DmSplash in terms of "WE NEED TO HAVE ONE MAP FEATURING THE WARPZONES IN DM", right before they settled for DmRadikus. Unlike those two maps however, this one featured seamless warpzones, making this map a bit of an "Escher-style" map. This had a negative impact however in netplay, hence why originally the map tried to force highdetailmode to false, to be less tasking on the machines of the time.
The map is featured in screenshots of a preview article for the Dreamcast version of Unreal.
Parts of this map resemble other maps from Cliff Bleszinski, most notably a room in DmHealPod and the ramps in DOM-Cathode (which would later become DOM-Bullet). There's also a corridor reminiscent of DmElsinore. Obviously there is also inspiration from DmDeck16.
