Hanson is a researcher stationed at the Izanagi Xeno Research Facility on Na Koja Abad. He was present at the demonstration of a fellow researcher testing a laser cannon developed using Drakk technology. Despite his eagerness, he warns his compatriot that the weapon is about to overheat and suggests shutting it off, to which the other researcher scoffs and mocks him for being "a wuss". Invariably, the machine does overheat, causing the cannon to explode and killing everyone in the room. He can only be saved if John Dalton jumps down and interrupts the demonstration in time.
