Kriin was a Nali and one of a trio of brothers incarcerated in the dungeons below the Bluff Eversmoking monastery.

Kriin and his brothers were being held in a prison below the monastery for unknown reasons. His first brother, Kruun, managed to escape the prison and hid inside an old hideout from their childhood under the monastery well whereas he and the other brother stayed in their cells. Prisoner 849 freed Kriin when journeying through the monastery and the adjacent prison system by activating a lever that opened doors to every cell. Once free, he immediately went to a cell directly above his where the other brother was kept to see what had happened to him. However, he found his brother to be already dead.
