The Light Araknid is a creature from Unreal II: The Awakening.

Overview[]

The Light Araknid is the weakest and most undeveloped of the Araknid species. It's a smaller, yellow spider that runs after its prey trying to bite it. Once they go through an energy beam powered by an artifact, they turn into Medium Araknids, a larger, red version that jumps at its prey, trying to crush it.

They are believed to have been hatched from eggs lain by the Heavy Araknid. When any light araknid gets exposed to a beam emitted by the Artifact, they mutate into Medium Araknids. The eggs containing them can be found around the Hell research outpost where upon detection of nearby creatures release these newly awakened Araknids. Despite being weak, they are very fast and very small.

Tips and tricks[]

  • It is best to destroy the eggs before they hatch. The very best way to defeat them would be to use the flame thrower or a rapid fire weapon.
