Species Statistics is a mutator found in Unreal Tournament 2003 and Unreal Tournament 2004. It's the inversion of a mutator found in Unreal Championship called "Competition Mode".


Overview Edit

The mutator gives different attributes to every race, affecting movement, health, damage resistance, and damage infliction.

Note: Favored attributes in the statistics tables are marked in green and unfavored attributes are marked in red.

Unreal Championship Edit

Mutator description

By default, the Species Statistics are enabled, and every race has it's own share of advantages and disadvantages. The Competition Mode mutator turns this off. Here are the stats per race:

Unreal Tournament 2003/2004 Edit

Mutator description

With everyone's attributes unified for the PC games, there's now a mutator called "Species Statistics", which gives them a more balanced version of Championship's attributes and removing the favored weapon and initial health. 2004 also introduced the Skaarj race and race-specific taunts. Races were also extended:

Tips and tricks Edit

  • Playing with race-dependant stats allow players in team games to decide who should occupy a certain position.

Trivia Edit

  • Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict would later play with the idea of gameplay differences between the races while also giving each character an own set of abilities and weapons, thus becoming one of the first proto-Hero Shooters.
