Meta article
The following is a meta-article, which explains a concept which usually falls out of one of the wiki's categorizations, yet it's still important to explain something.

In the Unreal series, similar to other first-person shooter games, players are required to frag either monsters or other players with weapons of various calibers and functionalities. Typically, once players spawn in the game, they start with one or more weapons already equipped, in addition to other items. This article provides an overview of the starting loadouts across the different games in the series.

Excluded from the list are the Arena and Instagib mutators.
